Nourish & Grow: Early Intervention Feeding Programme
Nourish & Grow is our comprehensive 4-month feeding therapy programme designed specifically for children under 5 years of age. Delivered by our specialist team of occupational therapists and dietitians, this programme helps families understand the underlying factors contributing to feeding difficulties while providing practical, evidence-based strategies to support positive change.
Who Is Nourish & Grow For?
Nourish & Grow is designed for families seeking support for young children experiencing feeding challenges. Our programme is perfect for parents who wish to understand and address the root causes of their child’s eating difficulties. With the guidance of our dedicated team, you can foster an environment that encourages food expansion and longer term, a positive relationship with food.
This programme may be suitable for children who:
– Have a limited range of accepted foods
– Are experiencing selective eating beyond what is expected for their age
– Have sensory sensitivities that impact eating
– Struggle with trying new foods
– Have difficulties progressing to age-appropriate textures
– Experience mealtime stress or distress
– Have concerns regarding growth, nutrition, or dietary variety
– Aged 6 months – 5 years
What is included in your Nourish & Grow Programme
The 4 month support programme includes:
Comprehensive Feeding Assessment
Your child will receive a comprehensive feeding assessment exploring:
– Sensory processing and sensory preferences
– Feeding skills and developmental milestones
– Mealtime participation and routines
– Environmental and family factors impacting feeding
– Functional challenges affecting eating and drinking
Sensory Assessment
Many feeding challenges have a sensory component. Our Occupational Therapist will complete a detailed sensory profile assessment helps identify how your child processes sensory information and how this may be influencing their relationship with food, textures, smells, tastes, and mealtime experiences.
Comprehensive Nutritional Assessment
Our specialist paediatric dietitian will complete a comprehensive nutritional assessment, including:
– Current food intake and dietary variety
– Nutritional adequacy
– Growth and development considerations
– Nutrient intake and nutritional risk factors
– Family goals and priorities
1-1 Therapy Sessions
Throughout the 4-month programme, families receive 3-4 weekly therapy sessions from both occupational therapy and dietetic clinicians. Sessions are designed to review progress, adapt strategies, celebrate successes, and provide ongoing coaching and guidance.
Online Resource Hub
Families gain access to our growing library of evidence-based online resources, including:
– Educational videos and learning modules
– Practical feeding strategies
– Mealtime guides
– Handouts and resources
– Activities to support progress between sessions
These resources allow families to continue learning and implementing strategies at home, helping to maximise outcomes throughout the programme.
Access to your therapist
Throughout the programme, you will have access to your therapist through a private messaging system which allows you to ask ALL questions that arise throughout. A key in driving long term change and maintaining progress.
